The Philippine Librarians Association, Inc. - National Capital Region Librarians Council is pleased to invite you to a two-day Seminar-Workshop on “Disaster Management in Libraries”. This will be held on April 29-30, 2014 at the Manila Tytana Colleges, Diosdado Macapagal Blvd., Pasay City.

 

In 2013, devastation of libraries was enormous so much so that librarians and record keepers were challenged by events beyond human control. This Seminar-Workshop hopes to:

Seminar-Workshop on Disaster Management in Libraries

 

 

(a) raise awareness of disasters and their potential destruction to information centers and resources;

(b) prepare participants for disasters and to learn how to rescue / recover destroyed materials;

(c) teach librarians how to formulate a disaster management plan; and

(d) organize disaster recovery teams among NCR librarians.

 

The seminar/workshop fee is Two Thousand Pesos (P2,000.00) inclusive of archival supplies, conference kit, certificates of participation and appearance, snacks and lunch. Since this is a workshop, the number of participants will be limited. And so, make your reservation as soon as possible. Attached herewith is an application form which you can fill out and send to the undersigned, together with a direction on how to go to the venue.
